Summary

After 3 decades of war, Afghanistan desperately needs people with scientific and technical training. With the help of the United States and other countries, Afghan academics are beginning to pick up the pieces. But a deadline looms: International military forces are preparing to leave the country by the end of 2014, and it's anybody's guess what will happen after they are gone.
