The growing power and influence of disease lobbying groups over the past 2 decades have dramatically reshaped the priorities of the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH), according to a new analysis. The study, which has drawn some skepticism, finds that the more money a group spent on lobbying, the more NIH boosted its spending on that disease.
