Summary

An unusual economic experiment that kicked off in 2010 has triggered one of the most impassioned debates in malaria control for years. At issue is a new funding mechanism that very few outside the field know or care much about—a "global subsidy" aimed at bringing the best malaria drugs to the patients who need them most by enlisting the private sector.
