In science news around the world this week, the Dutch government has created an online forum where "climate experts representing the full range of views" can discuss climate change; the U.S. Agency for International Development will support "development labs" that will design innovative, low-cost approaches to improving health and reducing poverty and conflicts; two of Berlin's largest biomedical research centers will form the Berlin Institute of Health; Britain's chief finance minister announced that the government would increase spending on space by 30%, or £60 million per year; and Californians voted against Proposition 37, which called for the mandatory labeling of genetically modified food sold in the state.
