The movie is played back at 30,000 times actual speed. Based on three repeated experiments, at room temperature, complete digestion of all delignified cell walls by cellulosomes took 7 d, while at optimized temperature (i.e., 55°C) and with the same amount of enzyme loading it took 35 to 45 h, indicating the reaction temperature remarkably affects the rate of cell wall digestion by the cellulosomes.
