Summary

Paul Corkum and Ferenc Krausz have won the 2013 King Faisal International Prize for Science for their independent work on ultrashort pulses of laser light; Jeffrey Michael Friedman and Douglas Coleman share the 2013 King Faisal International Prize for Medicine for their pioneering work together on the hormone leptin and the genetics of obesity; and David Evans has been named the new executive director of the National Science Teachers Association.
