A new benchtop robot enables simple, configurable laboratory automation. Adaptable to user demands, VALet has been designed to allow multiple hotel positioning for customizable, high-density microplate movement and storage, which can increase productivity in a limited work space. With four-axis plus servo-gripper, and the capacity to access both single and multiple arrayed nests, VALet is designed to be the ideal robot for instrument loading functions. With its flexible design and on-board re-grip station, the high capacity microplate storage can be placed on the left, right, or at the front to optimize its fit in the laboratory. User-defined choices also include random or sequential storage access, giving a capacity of up to 45 or 120 microplates, respectively. VALet has been designed to enable the quick addition of connecting carousels, which can be mixed and matched to provide enhanced storage and workflow capacity tailored to specific requirements.


The new 11 megapixel, cooled CCD camera known as the LF110 plus builds on the success of the current LF110 and again features the excellent 35 mm KAI-11002 CCD Sensor. The new camera includes both low-speed and high-speed Analog to Digital Converters providing a wide range of image acquisition speeds while maintaining maximum image integrity. A full-frame image of 4,008 ×2,672 pixels can be acquired at speeds of 2 megapixels/s for the highest quality images all the way up to 12 megapixels/s in preview mode. Low image noise remained a key prerequisite for the new design and the LF110 plus achieves this by matching the 11 electron noise performance of the original LF110 yet images are transferred to the PC in a significantly faster time. The combination of a new thermoelectric cooler with improved air flow management provides a temperature delta in excess of -40°without the assistance of liquid cooling.


ImmPRESS Polymer Detection reagents are now offered with alkaline phosphatase as the enzyme detection system. Available as Anti-Mouse and Anti-Rabbit ImmPRESS-AP Alkaline Phosphatase Polymer Reagents, these products are designed to detect primary antibodies made in rabbit and mouse in immunohistochemical staining. They provide greater sensitivity than conventional alkaline phosphatase antibody conjugates and other alkaline phosphatase detection reagents. Compatible with Vector Lab's Alkaline Phosphatase substrates of Vector Red, Vector Blue, Vector Black, and BCIP/NBT, the new ImmPRESS polymer reagents can be successfully used in single or multiple label staining applications. The ImmPRESS-AP Polymer Anti-Mouse IgG and ImmPRESS-AP Polymer Anti-Rabbit IgG kits are 15 mL ready-to-use solutions, including 15 mL 2.5% normal horse serum, sufficient to stain approximately 150 sections.


A comprehensive range of genomic DNA and cDNA products derived from various normal- and disease-state human tissue types are now available. These purified samples save valuable research time, allowing the immediate identification of genes of interest without the need to acquire tissues and perform in-house processing. Cancer and normal tissue cDNA arrays have been added to the cDNA range, which include individual polymerase chain reaction-ready first strand samples and panels. The cDNA in each array is synthesized from high-quality total RNA from pathologically verified tissues. Each array is provided with clinical information and QC data that has been both normalized and validated with β-actin in two sequential qPCR analyses. These new arrays were developed for differential gene expression analysis and validation, and enable the study of hundreds of different human tissues in less than two hours.


The MiniVap Blowdown Evaporator is able to quickly and safely remove solvent from up to 48 vials in parallel. Made from solvent resistant black polypropylene the new MiniVap Vial Holder has been designed to accommodate up to 48 vials in a standard SLAS/ANSI format. Incorporating advanced evaporator head technology which directly injects heated nitrogen into 48 HPLC vials simultaneously, the MiniVap removes the traditional laboratory 'bottleneck' of solvent evaporation from vials.
