Summary

An updated research plan released by Europe's particle physics community could set the stage for international collaboration on two proposed megaprojects: a new linear collider and a neutrino experiment that would fire the particles hundreds of kilometers through the Earth. In the report, Europe says it is open to collaborating with the United States, Japan and other nations on building the projects in North America or Asia. The move should help clarify efforts to fund the expensive efforts.
