Summary

The Aras River Bird Paradise is one of dozens of battlegrounds where Turkish scientists and their government are fighting over the environment. Scientists are trying to document Aras's biodiversity before construction starts on a dam that will flood the wetlands and imperil species at the long-term ecological research site.
