Summary

A diplomatic row between the European Union and the Israeli government could hurt research ties between the two. At issue are new E.U. guidelines, which stipulate that E.U. grants, prizes, and financial instruments may not support organizations or activities in areas not under Israel's control before 1967. In response, the Israeli government says it may forgo participation in Horizon 2020, the European Union's new €70 billion research program.
