MEMBRANE PROTEIN INTERACTION DETECTION

Designed to detect novel interaction partners for membrane proteins, the DUALmembrane System can be used to detect pairwise protein interactions, identify novel protein interactions by cDNA library screening, investigate ternary complexes, and map interaction domains. The system is available in both a convenient kit form and as a custom screening service. The DUALmembrane System reliably detects interactions between integral membrane proteins and receptor subunits and co-receptors as well as membrane-associated proteins and soluble proteins. The system is based on the properties of ubiquitin, a small protein modifier that is conserved in all eukaryotes and plays a primary role in protein degradation. The DUALmembrane Kit screens full-length integral membrane proteins for interactions in vivo under the physiological conditions at the membrane, with novel interactions identified through screening of cDNA libraries. The kit also allows easy subcloning of full-length cDNA inserts using Sfi I technology.

HUMAN STEM CELL PLURIPOTENCY

MILLIPLEX MAP Human Stem Cell Pluripotency Magnetic Bead Kits enable the analysis of many different pluripotency biomarkers in a single measurement. The new kits examine protein biomarkers that indicate the potency of stem cells, enabling pluripotent stem cells to be distinguished from multipotent or differentiating cells. These new kits save time and resources by accurately detecting large numbers of pluripotency markers in one measurement. Kits can be used on cultures of induced pluripotent stem cells, human embryonic stem cells, cancer stem cells, or cancer cell lines. Two kits are available for assessing stem cell pluripotency. The MILLIPLEX MAP Human Stem Cell Pluripotency Magnetic Bead Kit 1 monitors the expression of specific transcription factors Oct 3/4, Sox2, Nanog and c-Myc, and the MILLIPLEX MAP Human Stem Cell Pluripotency Magnetic Bead Kit 2 contains seven additional pluripotency-related markers.

HIGH CONTENT ANALYSIS SOFTWARE

The HCS Studio Software is a suite of high content imaging and analysis applications offering researchers the ability to easily and quickly interact with and analyze cell images and corresponding data. The HCS Studio Software delivers a sophisticated analysis tool with built-in intelligence and enhanced usability to analyze multiple parameters simultaneously. Simple-to-use tools, including icon-driven interfaces, step-by-step workflows and a desktop navigator, enable researchers to gain more knowledge about their cells. The HCS Studio software is the first high-content software to feature an integrated, automated plate handling capability, enabling the Orbitor RS Plate Mover to be used in conjunction with either the ArrayScan XTI High Content Analysis (HCA) Reader or the CellInsight NXT High Content Screening (HCS) Platform. This simple and automated simple plate handling capability delivers the right-sized solution for high-content users who do not need plate scheduling, but rather straightforward movement of plates from stacks to stage.

LOW-NOISE DATA ACQUISITION SYSTEM

The next generation Axon Digidata 1550 Low-Noise Data Acquisition System enables the parallel patching of up to eight cells simultaneously to provide better insight of neuronal network function and capture more data points per experiment. This new system extends the precision and quality of the existing Axon Digitizer platform to include a higher sampling rate to monitor rapid responders, combined with enhanced performance in low-noise, high resolution 16-bit data acquisition. The Digidata 1550 Digitizer features eight independent analog output channels to simultaneously send command waveforms to multiple cells at one time, essential for higher throughput toxicology experiments or to study synaptic function in complex neuronal networks. Combined with a sampling rate of up to 500 kHz per channel, the Digidata 1550 Digitizer allows researchers to gather more data points in demanding experiments such as nanopore and bilayer studies.

MICROSCOPY DATA ANALYSIS

Focusing on ease of use for routine applications, the latest cellSens software release, version 1.8, offers flexible and user-centric imaging, processing, analysing, and reporting. New and enhanced functions include a fully customizable user interface, precise frame-by-frame sample navigation, and easy one-button switching between wells. For a wide range of life science applications, cellSens provides easy control of the workflow. The software binds together Olympus frames, cameras, and high-quality optics to form complete, highly precise, and user-friendly microscopy systems. The new 'My Functions' window allows users to build their own personal interface by selecting and freely grouping software commands and icons according to individual needs. In addition, the creation of flexible workflow toolbars facilitates repetitive operations. The ability to display only the functions needed on the toolbar and to group common operations in a single tab, enables quick and easy access to the most frequently used tasks while providing a display free from clutter and confusion.
