The new head of the National Center for Science Education promises to "fight the good fight" against attacks on evolution and climate change in U.S. classrooms. Ann Reid hopes to draw upon her experiences working in a microbiology lab and influencing science policy to bolster the center's efforts to promote science teaching in thousands of school districts across the country.
