Science editors forecast science news to look out for in the year ahead. If they're right, 2014 should be a good year for clinical genome sequencing and a pivotal year for studying neutrinos from space and the polarization of the cosmic microwave background radiation left over from the big bang. Finally, U.S. labs will retire most chimpanzees from animal research studies.
