Summary

Carl Elliott of the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, has spent years trying to shine a spotlight on his school's psychiatric drug trials. He's driven by the suicide of Dan Markingson, who died while enrolled in a study testing antipsychotic drugs. Elliott and a growing number of supporters contend there were serious problems with informed consent and conflicts of interest; university administrators say the death has been thoroughly investigated, the university exonerated, and it's time to move on.
