384-Well Reagent Reservoirs

Adopting a standard ANSI / SLAS footprint, Integra 384-well reagent reservoirs (100 mL) are fully compatible with all liquid handling systems including the VIAFLO 384 Handheld Multichannel Electronic Pipette. 384 individual pyramidal indentations in each reagent reservoir allow maximum liquid recovery when using a VIAFLO 384 electronic pipette as well as other platforms. VIAFLO multichannel reagent reservoirs are both economically and environmentally friendly because users can reuse the reservoir base and dispose of the reservoir inserts. These reagent reservoirs are also designed to nest within one another without sticking and come in compact, space-saving packages.

CHN Microanalysis

An entry-level manual version of the high performance Model 440 Elemental Analyzer has been introduced for determining percentage levels of carbon, hydrogen, and nitrogen (CHN) quickly, easily and reliably across the widest range of sample types. Competitively priced, the manual Model 440 offers labs running smaller numbers of samples a no-compromise entry point into high performance CHN analysis. The manual Model 440 is based upon Exeter Analytical's proven static combustion elemental analyzer incorporating a unique horizontal furnace design. This horizontal furnace enables easy removal of sample residue (metals, inorganics) between each material analysis thereby eliminating the possibility of contamination. In addition, the gas flow characteristics of the Model 440 analyzer are superior to other elemental analyzers due to the effective elimination of troublesome residue build-up over time. Consequently the Model 440 provides longer-term calibration stability as well as enhanced accuracy and precision for measured sample data.

FFPE Tissue Samples

CancerSeq is a new range of genetically characterized FFPE tissue samples. CancerSeq samples are prepared from genomic DNA extracted from the FFPE tumor tissues and validated by next generation sequencing using Illumina's TruSeq Amplicon-Cancer Panel (TSACP). Available as tissue slides and whole blocks, samples are delivered with the mutation and variation data for 48 cancer-related genes including BRAF, KRAS, EGFR, ALK, and TP53. CancerSeq tissue samples provide researchers with the perfect medium for applications including validation of cancer marker mutation related drug candidates; companion diagnostic assay development; cellular localization of tissue specific mRNA and protein expression; and comparison of the locations of novel genes in different tissues as well as in situ hybridization, immunohistochemistry, and in situ polymerase chain reaction experiments. In addition, AMSBIO offers custom services to characterize your specimens or selected samples from its biorepository of cancer and normal formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue samples.

Direct Sample Analysis

The DART-QS Source is designed for rugged direct sample analysis using its Direct Analysis in Real-Time Mass Spectrometry technology, which can detect a range of materials from drugs of abuse to adulterated products in as little as 10 seconds per sample. Both qualitative and quantitative results can be obtained, providing rapid feedback, and alleviating backlogs. The source utilizes QuickStrip Sample Cards for automated analysis of 12 samples. They are simple to use, insure that no cross-contamination occurs, and can be loaded automatically or manually, including standards for quantitation. For critical samples, customers need an increased level of security and robustness, which is provided with the use of QuickStrip Sample Cards in the new enclosed DART-QS Source. Additionally the source can be used with nitrogen or helium, providing additional breadth of coverage, and minimizing background ions.

3-D Surface Profiling

The Leica DCM8 is designed for nondestructive three-dimensional surface profiling. The instrument is a combined confocal and interferometric optical profiler and therefore provides the benefits of both technologies: high-definition confocal microscopy for high lateral resolution and interferometry to reach sub-nanometer vertical resolution. Both techniques can be important for surface analysis of materials and components across numerous research and production environments. Surfaces that are made up of intricate structures with highly sloping areas demand lateral resolution of a few micrometers. In contrast to this, polished supersmooth surfaces with critical micro peaks and valleys require vertical analysis on the nanometer scale. With the Leica DCM8, users will be able to meet their specific surface metrology needs with lateral resolution up to 140 nm via confocal microscopy and vertical resolution of up to 0.1 nm with interferometry. Additionally, the user-friendly setup and operation of the microscope saves effort and delivers accurate results very quickly and conveniently.
