Correction to Brill et al., Science 352, 1078 (2016)

In the Report “Enantioselective synthesis of an ophiobolin sesterterpene via a programmed radical cascade,” tartrate-derived dioxaborolane 11 was incorrectly drawn with an (S,S) configuration in both Fig. 3 and the supplementary materials. (R,R)-11 was used exclusively in this work; Fig. 3 and the corresponding supplementary figures have been corrected accordingly. Although not explicitly stated in the text, the unnatural enantiomer of 6-epi-ophiobolin (3) was synthesized in this Report. The absolute configurations of 3 depicted in Fig. 1 (natural) and Fig. 4 (synthetic) are correct as drawn. Trichloroacetyl chloride (Cl3CCOCl) was also incorrectly depicted as “Cl3COCl” in Fig. 3 and figs. S1 and S2. None of the conclusions in the Report are affected. The PDF and HTML versions have been corrected. The supplementary materials PDF has been corrected as well.
