Motorized Z-Axis Microscope Focus Blocks

The FB series of Z-axis motorized focus blocks from Prior Scientific offer precise and repeatable positioning of loads with a weight of up to 14 kg. When creating an imaging system, it is often necessary to move components and samples, such as an XY microscope stage, vertically. Achieving precise movement in the Z-Axis is essential for high-quality imaging but can be difficult, especially with heavier components. Designed and manufactured to the highest standards, Prior Scientific Z-axis motorized focus blocks deliver the repeatability (± 0.7 µm) and precision (± 20 nm) required for almost any imaging application. Even with a full load, these motorized focus blocks may be driven between 1 mm/sec and 14 mm/sec over a travel range of 38 mm, making them a versatile choice for integration with a wide range of imaging systems. Standard and custom FB series motorized focus blocks are available to suit most applications.

FISH Assay

The MicroFISH Assay System is a clinically validated method combining microvolume, multiwell slides with SciGene slide processing instruments to economically perform routine cellular fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) in cytogenetic laboratories. The system uses a 1-µL probe for each 1-µL sample on specially coated 8-well MicroFISH slides. No coverslip sealant is needed. Coverslip removal and slide washing is automated. The lower volume conserves precious samples while reducing probe costs by 75% and labor costs by 50%.

Rotary Evaporator

The rotary evaporator Rotavapor R-300 evaporates liquids for separation. The modular concept offers many options for upgrades and customization (e.g., hand lift/electrical, touchscreen controllers, 2-L and 5-L bath, protection shield, various vessel types, etc.). Several vacuum pumps and recirculation coolers complete the product family. The I-300 and I-300 Pro are interfaces for the BUCHI Rotavapor R-300. Both are fully automated process controllers of all system components—attached on the rotary evaporator. The I-300 Pro offers the additional option of navigating the menu by using either the function buttons/pushwheel or the touchscreen display, or both combined. The different modes (operating or processing) are visually separated by reversing the display colors. The equipment suits a wide range of industries such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, food and beverage, feed, environmental analysis, and academia.

Manual Pipettes

Unlike traditional pipettes, which utilize a single rotating plunger to set volumes, the EVOLVE features three adjustable dials for setting each individual volume digit. Simply depress and twist the plunger to unlock the volume dials. Once unlocked, freely adjust the three dials to rapidly set the desired volume. This approach allows users to set volumes more than 10 times faster than is possible with traditional pipettes. Available in single-, 8-, and 12-channel formats, covering a volume range of 0.2 μL–5,000 μL, the ultra-lightweight, well-balanced design of the EVOLVE enhances productivity and comfort. EVOLVE manual pipettes are optimized for use with INTEGRA's wide range of GripTips pipette tips. GripTips snap into place with minimal tip-loading effort, providing a secure connection and superior accuracy and precision. The new INTEGRA linear stand holds up to 13 EVOLVE pipettes. Users can add up to four charging/communication stations to convert the linear stand into a charging stand.

Portable Infrared Spectrometer

The Delta IRIS with URI Connect is a new solution that extends the continuous measurement of isotope ratios and concentrations of CO2 in air to discrete samples, such as headspace analysis or direct injection of small amounts of CO2. By simultaneously detecting 13C and 18O, the system allows scientists to measure both isotopologues and concentration in one step, without destroying the sample. The universal reference interface (URI) Connect system lets the user interface with samples containing as little as 80 µg of CO2, such as in vials, syringes, or bags, which can then be analyzed with the Delta Ray isotope ratio infrared spectrometer (IRIS) analyzer. The instrument was designed with field portability and operational simplicity in mind, so that scientists can place it right at the point of their research interest. The URI Connect interface balances the concentration of reference gases against that of the sample, targeting accuracy with minimum effort from the user.

DNA Ladder

The Vivantis VC DNA Ladders offer numerous choices to give you an accurate determination of size and quantity of DNA or DNA fragments to complete your electrophoresis work. They are suitable for the sizing of PCR products or double-stranded DNA (dsDNA) fragments. Each DNA ladder comes complete with loading buffer. Choices include VC 1kb (kilobase) DNA ladder, VC 1kb-ex (extended) DNA ladder, VC 100bp (base pair) DNA ladder, VC 100bp Plus DNA ladder, and VC DNA ladder mix. A DNA ladder is a marker that consists of DNA fragments of specific base-pair lengths. It has a set of molecular weight standards that are used in identifying the estimated size of a molecule run on gel during electrophoresis, such as the size and quantity of DNA fragments of genomic, plasmid, and PCR DNA. It can be run either in agarose or polyacrylamide gels.
