Nikon Ts2R Microscope Accessories

Prior Scientific has introduced a range of high-performance stages, focus motors, and automation software for the new Nikon Eclipse Ts2R—an intermediate-size, inverted research microscope designed for a wide variety of uses. For applications requiring highly accurate and precise XY sample positioning, the H117 microscope stage delivers top performance for the Nikon Ts2R over a travel range of 114 mm × 75 mm, while proprietary Intelligent Scanning Technology enables users to further increase accuracy to 10-nm resolution with a mean repeatability of just ±0.2 µm. Prior Scientific also offers the PS3H122R focus motor with a focus resolution of 0.002 µm. For users with specialist requirements, the ProScan III control system allows access to the acceleration, speed, and drive current, enabling customization of system control. Using TTL outputs, the system can also provide precise synchronization of external devices such as cameras.

DIY Microscope Components

Thorlabs' Cerna microscopy platform addresses the needs of do-it-yourself (DIY) microscopists and system developers. Designed to be completely modular, its broad selection of components enables fully customized setups for widefield viewing, epi-illumination, and transmitted light imaging with in vivo and in vitro specimens. Its large throat depth of 7.74 in. defines an exceptionally large working volume, and a system of dovetails makes it easy to mate compatible components together and position them in and around the optical path. Additionally, Thorlabs provides interfaces to its standard optomechanical components, such as cage systems, lens tubes, and special breadboards, allowing the user complete freedom to design a unique optical train. With over 100 products in the Cerna line, users can easily combine Thorlabs' optomechanical platform with their choice of optical, electronic, motion-control, and vision parts to construct an imaging system tailored to their specific applications.

Benchtop Chemical Crystallography System

The XtaLAB mini II system is a research-grade, compact, single-crystal X-ray diffractometer designed to produce ready-to-publish 3D structures with exceptional quality, exceeding International Union of Crystallography publication standards. This next-generation instrument expands the capabilities of the XtaLAB mini by the addition of a low-noise, state-of-the-art, hybrid pixel array detector as well as the full-featured CrysAlisPro software from Rigaku Oxford Diffraction for instrument control and data analysis. Poorly diffracting samples can now be measured more accurately with a set of software tools equal to those featured with top-of-the-line diffractometers. An ideal addition to any synthetic chemistry laboratory, the XtaLAB mini II enhances research productivity by offering economical structure analysis capability. New compounds can be rapidly analyzed as they are synthesized in the lab.

Nanoparticle Characterization

The ViewSizer 3000 is a powerful new scientific instrument with state-of-the-art defining capabilities in the areas of particle visualization, particle size, and concentration measurement. These combined features enable unmatched—and in some cases first-of-a-kind—visualization and quantification of particle kinetic processes such as aggregation, self-assembly, and dissolution. Cell-Imaging System

Research scientists conducting live-cell imaging experiments can now access the next generation of an easy-to-use platform that is designed for a superior, fully automated experience, and makes high-resolution fluorescence microscopy accessible to all laboratories. The Invitrogen Evos FL Auto 2 Imaging System includes upgraded software, enabling users to rapidly capture and analyze high-quality images and simultaneously scan up to four fluorescence colors and transmitted light. In addition to a new design featuring a 23-in. LCD monitor, the user interface has been revised with an emphasis on workflow, which can be tailored to the sample and data required for experiments, such as collecting Z-stack images in time-lapse mode. For example, users can now define a scan area in low magnification and acquire images at higher magnification. The instrument is also compatible with the Evos Onstage Incubator to enable precise environmental control for demanding imaging experiments.

Microscopy Camera

Olympus' DP74 microscopy camera enhances return on investment by efficiently delivering sensitive fluorescence and brightfield imaging in one camera. With a 60-frames-per-second live image and 20.7-megapixel resolution, it delivers a lifelike experience onscreen while also introducing intelligent features, making everyday operation faster and more convenient. Features include a Position Navigator that automatically tracks the user's position on the sample, a time-saving anti-whiteout function, and noise reduction for low-light fluorescence signals. DP74 is ideally suited for a wide range of life science applications, particularly where samples with different types of staining are used on the same microscope. The DP74 also significantly improves the workflow of many industrial applications, where challenging samples with highly variable brightness can be clearly visualized in the live image thanks to the live High Dynamic Range function.
