Single-Channel Pipettes

The popular BrandTech Transferpette S adjustable-volume, single-channel pipette now comes in 0.1 µL–2.5 µL and 5 µL–50 µL sizes. Transferpette S pipettes offer superior performance, comfort, and value. Constructed with innovative composite materials, they are lightweight, fully autoclavable, and accept tips from most manufacturers. Their one-handed volume adjustment, along with their light weight and short pipetting stroke, reduce the risk of repetitive strain injury. The four-digit display is easy to read, ensuring precise volume settings, and is always visible during pipetting. Other pipettes in this series include adjustable- and fixed-volume single-channel pipettes from 0.1 µL to 10 mL, and multichannels from 0.5 µL to 300 µL.

Cell Atlas

The Cell Atlas, part of the Human Protein Atlas, is a freely available interactive database that provides information on where proteins are located in the human cell. This knowledge base of high-resolution images of immunofluorescence-stained cells shows the spatial location of over 12,000 proteins—opening the way for proteomics studies. The Human Protein Atlas employs an antibody-based approach, using both in-house generated antibodies and commercial antibodies from different providers. Antibodies are used for immunofluorescence staining on cell lines for determination of spatial distribution in 30 subcellular structures, as well as for immunohistochemistry on tissue microarrays for distribution of the protein expression in normal and cancer tissues. The open-access database contains millions of high-resolution images, released together with application-specific validation performed for each antibody. It has been developed in a gene-centric manner with the inclusion of all human genes predicted from genome efforts. Search functionalities allow for complex queries regarding protein expression profiles, protein classes, and chromosome location.

cfDNA Kit

The Quick-cfDNA Serum & Plasma Kit provides rapid preparation of high-quality, circulating cell-free DNA (cfDNA) from serum, plasma, amniotic fluid, cerebrospinal fluid, and saliva. Chemical and enzymatic methods are used to recover total DNA (including cell-free apoptotic, necrotic, mitochondrial, and viral DNA) linearly from up to 10 mL of sample. Zymo-Spin technology allows for ultrapure DNA to be eluted in as little as 35 μL of water. The resulting DNA is suitable for all subsequent analyses and molecular manipulations, such as quantitative PCR, NGS, and DNA methylation. Circulating cfDNA in serum and plasma is composed primarily of cfDNA fragments derived from healthy cells; however, in cancer patients, circulating tumor DNA can be detected with a higher signal-to-noise ratio than whole blood for noninvasive diagnostics. Therefore, cfDNA shed from circulating tumor cells is being investigated as a source of biomarkers for early diagnosis, prognosis, and monitoring of cancer therapy.

Gas Chromatograph Mass Spectrometer

The GCMS-TQ8050 triple quadrupole gas chromatograph mass spectrometer (GCMS) offers an instrument detection limit approximately 10 times more sensitive than the current system, enabling reliable detection of femtogram-level (parts per quadrillion) concentrations of trace components. Coupled with improved long-term stability due to high amplification levels and reduced noise levels, the GCMS-TQ8050 is ideal for researchers who require the most reliable trace analysis results. This includes analysis of extremely small quantities of dioxin in foods and the environment, persistent organic pollutant components, endocrine-disrupting chemicals, impurities in pharmaceuticals, and banned drugs in hair samples.

Cancer and Normal Tissue cDNA Arrays

TissueScan Cancer and Normal Tissue cDNA Arrays are developed to perform differential gene expression analysis and drug validation among hundreds of different human tissues in less than two hours. Complementary DNA (cDNA) from each array is synthesized from high-quality total RNA of pathologist-verified tissues, normalized and validated with ß-actin in two sequential quantitative PCR (qPCR) analyses, and supplemented with clinical information and quality control data. All TissueScan cDNA Arrays are in PCR microplates from Abgene (AB-0600). According to the plate manufacturer, the microplates will fit in most standard and qPCR thermocyclers. These arrays help researchers avoid tedious, time-consuming tissue acquisition and sample preparation.

FISH Probes

Oxford Gene Technology has expanded its catalog of Cytocell Aquarius Hematology probes for fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH).
