  • Automated reasoning, self-organization, and optimization should be added in AI Glossary

    Matthew Hutson described AI Glossary (1). AI is divided into inductive and deductive method respectively (2). Machine (deep) learning with changing synaptic weights is based on the inductive statistics method described in AI Glossary (1) except EXPERT SYSTEM. Deductive method including expert system and automated reasoning has been used in many real applications. Self-organization (clustering) is often used for parameter tuning in machine learning. Optimization is the first neural network application published in Science in 1989 (3). The optimization method has been used in currency validators, 12000 units as of 2009 (4,5). Automated reasoning, self-organization, and optimization are indispensable terms and should be added in AI Glossary.
