Microplates

Validated for use with TTP Labtech's acumen and mirrorball cytometers, sol-R microplates provide the convenience of an off-the-shelf consumable and the benefits of custom design. Due to plate flatness stringencies and the optical clarity of the film provided, these new microplates have been developed for use with microscope-based imaging devices, allowing users to transfer seamlessly between instruments. Also included in the portfolio are our industry-proven sol-R coded beads for secreted protein quantification in multiplexed, no-wash immunoassay screens that revolutionize the immunoassay workflow. Sol-R microplates deliver optimal data quality for immunoassay and phenotypic applications, while shortening the time lag between installation and productive screening. They offer enhanced productivity and confidence in screening results, and are available in sterile, tissue culture–treated formats, or nonsterile, nontissue culture–treated formats.

Th17 Immunoassay

Meso Scale Discovery has V-PLEX immunoassays validated for the detection of biomarkers IL-17A, IL-21, IL-22, IL-23, IL-27, and MIP-3α in human cell culture supernatants, serum, plasma, and urine. As part of several major T-cell-related pathways, these biomarkers are subjects of drug discovery projects, diagnostics development, and basic research. T-helper 17 (Th17) cells are a critical part of the immune system and act as a bridge between the innate and adaptive immune systems. Improper regulation of their proinflammatory activities contributes to numerous pathogenic conditions, such as type 1 diabetes, Crohn's disease, lupus, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis. V-PLEX assays support research ranging from screening and discovery to drug development. MSD currently offers 46 human V-PLEX assays, developed for researchers studying immunology, inflammation, neurodegeneration, and angiogenic disorders. 

Killer-Cell Immunoglobulin-like Receptors

AMS Biotechnology (AMSBIO) provides a suite of proteins and biotinylated proteins for research into killer-cell immunoglobulin-like receptors (KIRs), a family of type I transmembrane glycoproteins expressed on the plasma membrane of Natural Killer (NK) cells and a minority of T cells. KIRs regulate the killing function of these cells by interacting with major histocompatibility (MHC) class I molecules. Most KIRs are inhibitory—their recognition of MHC molecules suppresses the cytotoxic activity of their NK cells. Only a limited number of KIRs activate this activity. As a result of their role in killing unhealthy self-cells and preserving healthy self-cells, KIRs are involved in protection against and propensity to viral infection, autoimmune disease, and cancer. AMSBIO biotinylated proteins retain their authentic posttranslational processing, which translates into high bioactivity and stability. All proteins and biotinylated proteins intended for KIR research undergo rigorous quality control measures to ensure consistent performance. 

Microplate Cap Mats

Manufactured from chemically resistant polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) with a silicone lining, the new J.G. Finneran pierceable cap mats come with a specially weakened area in a shape of a cross on each of the 96-well sections. For automated high-throughput chromatography applications where piercing and re-sealing is required, the new cap mats allow easy, reproducible access while maintaining a high integrity seal on individual plate wells. They contain no contaminants that may leach out and affect samples, and are available in a complete range of round and square 96-well deep-well plates. All Porvair 96-well deep-well plates are precisely made to ANSI/SLAS dimensions, ensuring complete compatibility with almost all readers, washers, and automated equipment.

Human CD138 ELISA Kit

The Diaclone sCD138 enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kit is a solid-phase sandwich ELISA for the in-vitro qualitative and quantitative determination of soluble syndecan-1 (sCD138) in supernatants, buffered solutions, or serum and plasma samples. This assay will recognize both natural and recombinant human sCD138. Syndecans are a transmembrane protein family within the heparin sulphate proteoglycan group that interact with many different molecules of the immune system. CD138 is regularly cleaved from the membrane, so high levels of soluble CD138 are found in the blood, which can be easily detected using a CD138–specific ELISA. In adult tissues, CD138 is predominantly expressed by epithelial cells and plasma cells (both normal and malignant). It is also expressed on pre- and immature B cells. Syndecan 1 has been shown to participate in cell-to-cell interactions, organ development, vessel formation, and tissue regeneration following injury as well as tumor cell growth, survival, adhesion, and invasion.
