UV-Visible Detector

Uniqsis Ltd's Flow-UV is an affordable, inline UV-visible spectrophotometric detector for flow-chemistry applications. This compact detector (18 cm × 18 cm × 17 cm) fits conveniently, even in crowded fume cupboards. Using the absorbance data from the detector allows dispersion experiments to be monitored in real time and enables product collection to be controlled according to the onset and decline of steady-state conditions. Unlike conventional deuterium UV lamps, the xenon flash-lamp source used in the Flow-UV has a lifetime of up to 10 years. Fiber-optic waveguides connect the high-pressure Flow-UV flow cell to the source and detector, permitting the flow cell to be positioned virtually anywhere in the flow path. The Flow-UV lets you select up to five wavelengths for monitoring a reaction, ensuring that detector saturation is avoided.

hMSC Media

MSC NutriStem XF Medium is a defined, serum-free, xeno-free (XF) culture medium designed for optimal growth and expansion of human mesenchymal stem/stromal cells (hMSCs) derived from a variety of sources, including bone marrow, adipose tissue, and umbilical cord matrix. The medium supports long-term growth of hMSCs while maintaining their self-renewal and multilineage differentiation potential. hMSCs cultured in MSC NutriStem show superior proliferation and self-renewal potential in comparison to serum-containing media and other commercial serum-free media. In addition, hMSCs maintain their proper fibroblast-like cell morphology and trilineage differentiation potential, and demonstrate normal hMSC marker profiles and karyotypic stability over long-term culturing. 

Triple Quadrupole LC/MS System

Agilent's 6495B Triple Quadrupole LC/MS System combines high-performance liquid chromatography and triple quadrupole mass spectrometry in an integrated system that delivers sensitivity and accuracy for applications such as peptide quantitation, food safety, environmental testing, clinical research, and forensic toxicology. The 6495B provides improved mass range, scan speed, and polarity switching—all of which enable scientists to better analyze molecules from a wide array of sample matrices. It also incorporates a gate valve that facilitates quick and easy removal of the inlet capillary without having to vent the instrument, enabling increased uptime and productivity. Mouse Embryo Assay

MEGA from Irvine Scientific is a new mouse embryo assay that measures gene expression for quality control testing of raw materials used for the manufacture of media for in vitro fertilization. In studies, MEGA demonstrated increased ability to detect embryotoxic materials that could adversely affect embryo development. Using embryos from a genetically engineered mouse strain, MEGA employs a functional molecular biomarker to improve detection of toxic media or any other environmental stress that may negatively impact early development. The assay measures both early fluorescence intensity and the location of fluorescence produced by green fluorescent protein, which is expressed under the control of the Oct4 promoter (also known as Pou5f1). Regulation of Oct4 expression is one of the most critical early indicators of normal embryonic development.
