Single-Unit Activity in the Cat's Visual Cortex: Modification After an Intense Light Flash

In response to a brief, intense light flash at the retina, the cells of the visual cortex in the cerveau isolé preparation of the cat show prolonged excitation of a type not normally produced by physiological stimulation.
