Scientists are having trouble meeting enrollment targets for a $4.2 million study of Chronic Lyme Disease intended to test whether a 90-day course of antibiotics makes patients feel better. Even as the scientists debate the proper treatment for the disease, officials in Connecticut, ground zero for the disease, are battling insurance companies on behalf of patients seeking reimbursement for extended Lyme disease therapy.
