SAN FRANCISCO-- According to new field research reported at the American Association for the Advancement of Science's annual meeting (held here from 16 to 20 February), Mount Kilimanjaro has lost more than 80% of its famous ice cap since the early 20th century. The dramatic findings may spur policy-makers and the public far more than abstract warnings of climate trends.
