Summary
The chicken has been a subject of study for many reasons, from agriculture to developmental biology. The draft of the chicken genome sequence, which should be completed in Spring 2004, will finally bring these worlds together. As described in this Policy Forum, an international consortium will coordinate efforts to integrate data from the different scientific communities interested in chick biology with this sequencing effort.
