About The Cover

Cover image expansion

COVER A blue crab, Callinectes sapidus, 2 hours after molting. Even though the old external skeleton has been shed, this soft-shell crab is still capable of forceful movement, likely because its soft, water-inflated body functions as a hydrostatic skeleton similar to that of worms.
