COVER Artist's view of a collision in the Kuiper belt. The Sun is 45 astronomical units away and shines within the zodiacal dust cloud. Jupiter (pink dot) and Neptune (blue dot) are to the right of the Sun. The Kuiper belt is a remnant of the circumstellar disk that formed the solar system and is a source of comets. See page 63.
