COVER A montage of pseudo-colored Arabidopsis inflorescence apices as observed by electron microscopy; wild types and leafy mutants alternate, starting with a wild type at the top left. The LEAFY gene is critical for acquisition of floral identity in angiosperms and sporophyte development in mosses.
