    In his E-Letter, Schopfer proposes a strain-based model for microtubule (MT) orientation in plant cells. From the literature and our initial data, this is a hypothesis we initially favored; in fact, we discussed in our Research Article the possibility that the MTs orient perpendicular to strain.
