Stem cell research supporters are elated—but still worried—after an appeals court last week threw out a temporary ban on the use of federal funds for human embryonic stem cell research. The case now returns to the trial court, where the outcome is unpredictable. And appeals of the trial court's decision could drag out the legal process for many more months.
