Serum Replacement

Animal component free and chemically defined, Cell-Ess serum replacement is used in place of fetal bovine serum (FBS) as a cell culture media supplement. Unlike FBS, Cell-Ess does not contain variable levels of growth factors, hormones and plating factors that signal cells to behave in non-normal ways. Cell-Ess delivers only critical factors enabling greater experimental control and analysis of cell behavior for cell lines and primary cells.

Multimode Plate Reader

The new EnSight Multimode Plate Reader is the first plate reader on the market to offer both labeled and label-free detection, together with well-imaging technology (which facilitates cell imaging), on a single benchtop system.This unique combination allows researchers to run their assays on the same platform—generating more predictive results earlier in the drug discovery process. The EnSight system enables researchers to generate more reliable readouts and obtain an expanded set of data from their samples.They can also use the EnSight system's variety of technology modes to perform confirmatory assays, helping to ensure that results are not biased to the detection technologies used for their sampling. The EnSight system offers cell imaging capabilities that allow researchers to quickly visualize cells and generate per-cell data.When using primary/stem cells, this per-cell data is a more physiologically relevant model than the per-well data generated by traditional multimode detection technologies.

Embryoid Body Formation Kit

The Cultrex Embryoid Body (EB) Formation Kit is a tool for generating consistent, reproducible, and identically sized embryoid bodies. It has been qualified to form EBs from human embryonic stem cells and induced pluripotent stem cells (hESCs and iPSCs). The kit includes ROCK Inhibitor Y-27632, which significantly increases survival of PSCs in single cell culture, a specialized EB Formation Matrix to stimulate cell aggregation and development of EB, and a 96-well EB Formation Plate, that allows for control of the EB size and shape. No transfer step is required for formation or differentiation, which allows for high throughput work. This is the only commercially available kit for formation and differentiation of size-consistent embryoid bodies.

Neural Cell Models

An extensive range of induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC)-derived neural cells including normal and Alzheimer's disease neural progenitor cells, and cerebral cortical neurons is now available. These neural cells are derived using integration-free, fully defined neural induction conditions and are capable of generating a spectrum of cortical neurons that are electrically active and have the ability to form functional synapses and circuits in vitro. Cerebral cortical neurons are implicated in numerous neurological diseases including Alzheimer's disease, autism, epilepsy, and stroke. A complete suite of cell reprogramming and neural differentiation services is also offered to meet the needs of neural cell researchers. For cell reprogramming simply provide patient/donor skin fibroblasts, blood cells, or iPS cells and AMSBIO will take care of the rest. Additionally, ongoing support is provided after the neural progenitor cells and/or functional neurons are delivered to facilitate the adaptation of the neural cells in experimental systems.

Virus-Free iPSCs

The Simplicon RNA Reprogramming Technology uses synthetic self- replicating RNA to create large numbers of human induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs) using a single transfection step. This efficient reprogramming of somatic cells is accomplished without viral intermediates or host genome integration, offering a more defined and safer system for iPSC generation. The Simplicon RNA Reprogramming Technology uses a single synthetic, polycistronic self-replicating RNA strand engineered to mimic cellular RNA. The RNA strand contains the four reprogramming factors, OCT-4, KLF-4, SOX-2, and GLIS1, and enables the creation of integration- and virus-free iPSCs using only one transfection step. Once the cells are generated, the RNA and reprogramming factors can easily be eliminated from the cell culture medium in a controlled manner.

Inverted Microscope

The Leica DMi1 enables cell biologists to check and document cell and tissue cultures within seconds. Its ease-of-use and efficient operation make it an excellent choice for routine laboratory work as well as for training. Combining high performance and affordability, the Leica DMi1 is equipped with LED illumination that provides constant color temperature with up to 20 years life-time. The convenient two-hour auto-off function helps reduce energy costs. For the finest visualization of cells cultured in a variety of containers, phase contrast is available in addition to brightfield illumination. The 40–50 mm or 80 mm working distance means that a wide variety of culture containers like flasks, dishes, or multiwell plates can be used on the fixed stage. An optional object guide with different kinds of holding frames is available to securely and reliably hold and move laboratory vessels during observation and documentation.
