In Harness the Sun, author Philip Warburg presents a clear and concise primer on the state of solar energy in America, breaking down manufacturing processes, explaining federal subsidies, exploring ways to make solar panels affordable for renters and low-income communities, describing net metering (in which customers sell solar energy back to the grid), and dissecting domestic solar politics and international trade disputes. Praising the book as "graceful, diverse, wide-ranging, and well-balanced," reviewer Amory B. Lovins recounts some of the book's surprising findings, and suggests additional topics to be covered in future editions.
