  • DRAWDOWN: A Living Research Project - An invitation to learn more

    We appreciate Faye Duchin’s description of Drawdown as an “ambitious project.” Project Drawdown is more than the book published on April 18th, 2017. This first publication is just the tip of the iceberg. Project Drawdown is tens-of-thousands of person-hours from some of the brightest minds from around the world. It is a coalition of scientists, researchers, policymakers, students, activists, philanthropists, business leaders, and investors. It is a clearing house for solutions. It is a catalyst for action. Yet, at its core, it is a collaborative, living research project.
    The basic premise of the book is to communicate solutions to global warming in an accessible style that we hope will empower its readership. The summary of methodology in the book, under both “Numbers” and “Methodology”, along with the accompanying snapshot of a section of the first page of the model, is only a brief outline for non-technical audiences. The image is meant only to be a graphical glimpse, and not to bear the scrutiny of scientific review. However, we welcome interested modelers, scientists, and researchers to learn more and join us in strengthening the modeling effort that gave rise to this book. Over the course of this year, all technical reports and models will be made available on our website, with our methodologies fully transparent.
