Summary
In the arc of history, cultural and technological shifts have estranged us from daylight. Today, Europeans and Americans spend on average 90% of their time indoors. Understanding the factors that determine the form and function of the built environment can lead to further improvements and adaptations to fit our actual needs. This booklet aims to stimulate interdisciplinary discussion about how best to utilize daylight, identifying new ways to promote health and inspire new approaches to built and natural environments.
