  • Do we need politicians in AI age?

Dov Greenbaum et al. wrote an article entitled “What’s next for humanity?” (1). The article mentioned that many jobs of human experts will be replaced by AI or AI systems (1). However, the article did not mention the role of politicians in our society in AI age. Jobs of human experts including politicians will not be excepted. Politicians roles can be replaced by AI or AI systems. According to Wikipedia, roles of politicians are to propose, to support and to create laws or policies that govern the land and, by extension, its people (2). Broadly speaking, a "politician" can be anyone who seeks to achieve political power in any bureaucratic institution (2). As long as criteria and values of our society can be formulated by AI, AI will be able to scientifically create laws or policies based upon the given intractable problem. Politicians may not be needed to solve intractable problems in the near future. Current politics or political decisions can be determined not by rational or logical reasoning but by stronger political power. In our society, money plays a key role in influencing in current politics. Do we need politicians in AI age? Without politicians, we will not need to waste our money.
