Class II Biological Safety Cabinets

The Thermo Fisher Scientific Herasafe and Maxisafe 2030i Class II biological safety cabinets (BSCs) offer a "smart," self-monitoring safety capability to automatically maintain appropriate airflow and monitor critical conditions in real-time for continuous, uncompromised protection of your most valuable cell research. The systems are designed to connect to the secure Thermo Scientific Cloud for simplified, remote sharing and monitoring of key operational and performance data wherever a Wi-Fi connection is available. This allows for improved process control, reporting, and asset management while eliminating the human-error potential associated with paper-based procedures. The Herasafe and Maxisafe 2030i BSCs are equipped with an advanced yet convenient and intuitive graphic touchscreen interface, which continuously displays unit status and performance data, and provides easy-to-read alerts and messages. Furthermore, an electronic sash with a fully hinged opening enables ready access for supplies and equipment, and simplifies cleaning and disinfection. The units also comply with NSF/ANSI Standard 49 and EN Standard 12469 for Class II BSCs.

Custom NGS Adapters

Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT) now provides Custom NGS Adapters. The cornerstone of this offering is a truly innovative, web-based configurator tool—the Custom Adapter Configurator—enabling researchers to effortlessly select the perfect components for their experiments and order them immediately, thanks to the built-in ecommerce function. IDT has made these adapters easily accessible to users of all levels, allowing researchers to better tailor library preparation to their specific applications. Three high-quality configurations are available: TruSeq-Compatible Full-Length Adapters, TruSeq-Compatible Stubby Adapter and Indexing Primers, and Nextera-Compatible Indexing Primers.

LED Transmitted-Light Illumination Base

Users of Olympus' SZX and SZ series stereo microscopes and the MVX10 fluorescence microscope can expand their observation capabilities, thanks to the new, slim 41.5-mm (1.6-in.) LED transmitted-light illumination base. The base contains a unique, easy-to-use turret system that loads up to four cartridges. Nine cartridges are available, offering different observation methods including brightfield, darkfield, polarization, and oblique as well as three levels of contrast (low, standard, or high) for the brightfield and oblique illumination. Users can easily switch the cartridge by rotating the turret to quickly find the optimal observational conditions for their sample.

Mouse Bispecific Antibody Reagents

Absolute Antibody now offers mouse knob-into-hole (KIH) bispecific antibodies, which permit simultaneous engagement of two different protein targets. Our bispecific antibodies are fully murine, meaning they can be used in vivo without rapidly inducing neutralizing, antidrug antibodies. In addition, the antibodies can be engineered with a silenced fragment crystallizable (Fc) domain when desirable for the biological activity of the bispecific, while still retaining neonatal Fc receptor (FcRn)-mediated recycling capabilities. All antibodies are produced recombinantly for ensured batch-to-batch reproducibility, and offer high purity and low endotoxin levels ideal for in vivo applications. We have created mouse bispecific antibodies to target key proteins involved in different immunological pathways, including PD-L1, CD3ε, and CD47. Researchers can also build their own custom bispecific reagent, selecting two targets to combine into one antibody reagent.

Bluetooth Thermometer Expansion

Wireless connectivity from a thermometer/hygrometer directly to your smartphone provides the freedom to concentrate on other tasks while still monitoring temperature and humidity. H-B Instrument – SP Scienceware Bluetooth Thermometers provide that freedom by alerting you when set parameters have been exceeded, from as far away as 40 m. Data logging–enabled models record hourly data for seven days, then maximum and minimum data for the next 23 days. Verification models provide temperature readings without sample contamination by utilizing a glass bead–filled bottle which mimics the sample. These are also useful for monitoring the temperature within equipment such as incubators and refrigerators. With thermometer-only, non-data logging models, you can view temperatures through the THERMSmart app, or directly on the LCD screen for on-unit monitoring. All models include a Certificate of Compliance indicating accuracy for four temperature points or four temperature and three humidity points, and multiple language instructions. They are individually serialized, CE marked, and Restriction of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) compliant.

Parallel Reactions Heating Block System

Asynt announces the DrySyn Multi-M high-temperature adapter—a unique product that enables scientists to undertake parallel reactions requiring solution temperatures of over 400°C. With high-temperature hotplate stirrers being generally much larger than those considered as "standard," our new adapter plate ensures that the DrySyn Multi-M, loaded with 3 mL × 250 mL round-bottomed flasks, can be accurately and securely positioned. Manufactured from solid aluminum, the DrySyn Multi-M was originally designed for a customer who is now successfully performing novel nanoparticle synthesis reactions in parallel. Asynt recommends the use of a high-temperature hotplate stirrer, such as the IKA C-MAG HS 7; this unit operates at temperatures up to 500°C and works perfectly with the DrySyn Multi-M, allowing parallel experiments to be set up and used in a secure central position.
