    Crabtree [1] is promoting electric mobility, the same as many others, [2], without having realized yet the major obstacle, that is energy storage, not only for the electric vehicles but principally for making wind and solar the overwhelming contributors to a stable grid.
    The opportunity to benefit from electric mobility stems from the opportunity to achieve a total primary energy supply (TPES) basically by wind and solar only. Unfortunately, the analysis of [1] and [2] are built on the rapidly increasing capacity (nominal generating power of wind and solar facilities) [3]. The nominal generating capacity is NOT a correct measure of the actual electricity produced by wind and solar.
    The achievable share of TPES is limited by the intermittency and unpredictability of wind and solar. The TPES by source, World 1990-2017 from [4] tells us that worldwide, the energy production solar and wind, plus the negligible geothermal, tide, wave, and the ocean, is still about only 1.8% of the global TPES.
    If the solar and wind share of the TPES is still small, despite the dramatically increasing capacities, and not going to improve that much, there is a clear reason. This is because of the still unresolved, very marginally tackled energy storage issue [5], [6].
    The intermittency of both solar and wind is the major challenge of a renewable energy only economy, and thus of electric mobility.
