EMT densities of discrete particles in chromatin chains are consistent with nucleosome volumes. In regions with low CVC% (15-17%), we observe chromatin chains that have thin threads decorated with discrete particles (Fig. 5B). Using Chimera we show that DNA/nucleosome particle (PDB: 3W96) dimensions are consistent with chromatin chain particle EMT volumes.
